Good Morning L.I.G.H.T. Families!
I hope you all had a great weekend despite the end of the football season for all of us Patriot fans! And speaking of mourning, that’s the topic of today’s e-thought and the corresponding Gathering Extender that you can find at http://scplight.weebly.com/the-mourning-booth.html.
When I was looking for Gathering Extenders for the month, this one popped right out at me. It speaks of ways to bring healing to someone who mourns. As some of you know, we lost my mother-in-law a few months ago after a short battle with cancer. Since that time, our family has been focusing much of our love and attention on my father-in-law. His pain is immense; each day is a challenge for him to get through. Sometimes he does it well. More often than not though, he just squeaks by. As we see the number of good days begin to ever-so-slowly creep closer to the number of bad, we are learning a lot about the process of mourning. We are learning a lot about the type of healing that we can provide, and the type of healing that has to come from within. It is helpful to be able to look to Jesus and realize that once again we have guidance for this process. The Scriptures, as well as the model that Jesus provided for us during his time walking the earth, can be a comfort and an inspiration to us as we seek healing – for others as well as for ourselves.
Take some time today to check out the link above. Let it inspire you to allow your presence to bring healing to those in your life. It’s not hard, and it can make the world of difference.
Have a great day!
