Good Morning L.I.G.H.T. Families –
Thank you all for your participation in last week’s Gatherings where we spoke of the topic of Brokenness in our world and of Jesus the Comforter. The awareness that we all took home from our time together was that we too are called to be a comforter to others – to continue Jesus’ ministry of healing and forgiving in the world around us. I don’t know about you, but even in just the past week, I have seen multiple opportunities to call on Jesus’ lessons to bring healing to the world around me. I was able to use all that we spoke of to help me extend healing to others in different ways. I hope you found the same value in the lesson that we shared.
We did have a number of absences this month due to illness. I pray that those of us who have been sick will find healing soon and are feeling up to par quickly. Everyone take good care during this especially virulent flu season. If you did miss, you can find the make-up work at http://scplight.weebly.com/make-up.html. I do make note of all of the make-up work that is complete and we’ll take information this into consideration when reviewing attendance records at the end of the year. So please, try to attend if at all possible. But if you cannot, the make-up work will give you a taste of what was missed and help keep you on track for what we will be doing the following month. Please feel free to go back and complete lessons from any prior months that you missed as well.
Lastly, don’t forget how important it is to ‘Continue the Conversation’ at home after each Gathering week. This month’s Gathering Extenders (GE’s) are posted and ready to be used at http://scplight.weebly.com/the-comforter.html I urge you to find a few minutes here and there to complete these short activities to enrich your faith life. During the next few weeks, I will be sending brief notes about each of the five GE’s that are available for January. Among them you will find a movie, a musical reflection on the Peace Prayer, a clip from the Skit Guys on mourning, and reflections on the two sacraments that we have been given to help with the healing process in different areas of our lives.
Have a good week everyone! More soon!
