Good Afternoon L.I.G.H.T. Families –
It seems like forever since I dropped you an E-Thought, I miss you all already and hope that you’re enjoying the lovely spring weather that we’ve been having!
A few weeks have passed since the final L.I.G.H.T. Gathering of the 2012-12 season and I wanted to check in to see you are all doing with your family mission statements. We have ours hanging on our fridge to remind us of what we believe and what we value as priorities for life in the Francoeur household. I hope that you will reference the statement that you wrote for your family over the summer months to remind yourselves of what it means for your family to live as Church in your home, your community, and beyond.
The staff and I spent the last week preparing a celebratory meal for all of the volunteers of the L.I.G.H.T. program. Our goal was to express to them how much we appreciate all that they do and to let them know that they are the heart of the Faith Formation process here at St Catherine’s. If you have a few minutes, check out our end of the year slideshow that ends with a list of all of the wonderful ladies and gentlemen who have shared their time and their talent with the program in all sorts of volunteer capacities over the last twelve months.
While I am on the THANK YOU train – I want to thank each and every one of your for sharing the year with us at L.I.G.H.T. It was one of the best Gathering Seasons to-date as we got to know the person of Jesus and looked in depth at what it means to be Church in the world today. I also want to express appreciation on behalf of the entire Core Team for the feedback that you gave to us on your end-of-the-year evaluations. Responses were largely positive and raised many great points regarding both strengths of the programs and areas where we could use some tweaking. Over the next few months I will use the evaluation data to speak to you about many of these areas. We have already met to speak about changes that can be made to further improve the quality of faith formation at the parish and I look forward to sharing those results with you.
I have long wanted to come up with a warm, catchy, and appropriate way to end these e-Thoughts, so I may try a few on for size as we go thru the summer together. How’s the first one???
