Dear L.I.G.H.T. Families –
Hello! I am so sorry to have been silent for the last few weeks. I hope you have all enjoyed this month of thanks and gratitude and that you are entering the season of Advent with hopeful anticipation.
Thank you all so much for helping to once again fill fourteen Thanksgiving Baskets for our parish and city community. A special HUGE thank you to Danielle Woodbine and her family who coordinated the effort again this year. Under their leadership, we brightened the day of more than 35 adults and children. What a wonderful example to our students of what it means to live our faith and follow in the footsteps of Christ.
Speaking of footsteps, I hope that you are continuing to look at the footprints that you brought home from our last Gathering. Your task was to envision the type of Christian footprint that you want to leave behind; the kind of mark that you want to make on the world that will let everyone know that you are a follower of Jesus. You were to write what your mark would look like on your footprint. I invite you to bring those back with you to our December Gathering and we will display them in the hall along with the thread of love that we are continuing in Jesus’ name.
My absence has left a few holes in the L.I.G.H.T. process for the month of November. The Gathering Extenders were added to the website, but I never let you know that. If you have some time in the next few days, please take a look at the offerings. http://scplight.weebly.com/the-man.html They all speak to last month’s topic where we explored Jesus as the perfect model that we have to look to as we strive to live our lives and always be growing closer to God.
Also, if your family missed the November Gathering week, the make-up work is also on the website. You can follow this link to find that. http://scplight.weebly.com/november.html
I think that is all the information that you need to wrap up the November Gathering month. I look forward to some normalcy during December where we can get back to business as usual; and with our business being to become better acquainted with Christ – what a hopeful thing that will be!
All my best,
